Context
- LokOS (Lok = People, OS = Operating System) is a digital governance platform under DAY-NRLM for end-to-end management of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and their federations.
- On 29 June 2026, the Ministry of Rural Development launched SHE-LEAPS under LokOS to promote women-led enterprises.

- India’s SHG ecosystem was largely dependent on manual record-keeping, leading to delays, errors and weak monitoring.
- LokOS creates a unified digital platform for governance, financial management and livelihood promotion.

DAY-NRLM
- Launched in June 2011 as National Rural Livelihoods Mission (Aajeevika).
- Replaced Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), 1999.
- Renamed Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–NRLM (DAY-NRLM) in 2015.
